Intinerary

DAY 01: HANOI ARRIVAL (-/-/D)

Welcome to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam! Our tour guide will meet you at Noi Bai International Airport and then tranfer to hotel. Check-in and free time for leisure. Enjoy your first dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 02: HANOI – HOA LU – TAM COC – HANOI (B/L/-)

Get picked up by our tour guide then depart for Ninh Binh province (90 km south of  Hanoi).  Arrive in Hoa Lu, which is once depicted the ancient capital of Viet Nam, settled up in the 10th century. Visit temples of two dynasties of Dinh and Le with a very unique architectures in the old time.

After that, visit the excavation area beside the Le Dai Hanh temple. You experience the vestiges of Royal Palaces ground dated back 10th century. Go back and drive to Tam Coc.

CYCLING RIDE (optional): Those who love to explore real countryside images of Vietnam can proceed a 40 minute cycling ride along country lane (from Tam Coc to Bich Dong Pagoda, estimated time 40 minutes for 5km cycling 2 ways), experiencing the beautiful scenery of lush paddy fields.

Board the sampan boats (2-3 people share a boat) in Tam Coc dock to drift down the river among the villages, mountains and lush rice fields. Passing through 3 caves "Hang Ca - First cave, Hang Hai -Second cave, Hang Ba - Third cave" to get a strange feeling. Boat returns to the dock for a drive back to Hanoi.

DAY 03: HANOI CITY – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI (B/L/-)

A full day city tour of Vietnam’s capital. Hanoi is a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and the Tran Quoc Pagoda on the edge of West Lake. After that continue to Hoa Lo Prison and end the afternoon with a visit to the Lake of the Restored Sword and a cyclo tour of the Old Quarter.

In the evening take the night train to Lao Cai.

DAY 04: LAO CAI - SAPA (B/L/-)

Arrival Lao Cai in the early morning. Transfer to Sapa.

Take a walking tour of Sapa for a visit to the hill tribe villages. First start of 6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Continue a 2km-trekking down to Lao Chai village, through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. You will have a worth chance learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes on the way. Last trek is about 2Km to the bus stop in Tavan then get back to Sapa.

DAY 05: SAPA – BUS TO HANOI (B/L/-)

After breakfast our driver & tour guide take you to Cable Car Station and spend 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Reach the altitute of 2800 meters, you have a good time to see the view and take photos, visit pagoda the spiritual destinations and trek up to 600 steps you will reach the peak of Fansipan - the Roof of Indochina.

We come back to Cable Car Station and return to Sapa town.

Relax and discover Sapa town by yourself with some souvenirs, meet all group members at hotel to get ready for Hanoi. Get on bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks.

DAY 06: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B/L/D)

Depart for the 3hr 30mins drive to Halong Bay. Arrive to the Halong City jetty (around noon) and proceed with check in formalities. After a welcome on board, lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some sightseeing, on-board activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board.

Towards the end of the day, the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

DAY 07: HALONG BAY – HANOI – FLIGHT TO DA NANG – HOI AN (B/BR/-)

Wake up to fresh coffee and a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Halong City. En route the boat weaves through strange-shaped rock formations. After another wonderful brunch on board disembark at the dock at Halong City. Transfer back to Hanoi and the Noi Bai Airport to catch flight to Da Nang. Pick up and tranfer to hotel in Hoi An.

DAY 08: HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN (B/L/-)

A half day trip to visit the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom, My Son. Here, 40km southwest of Hoi An, in a lush green valley, are dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the seventh and thirteenth centuries. Visit the museum and the holy site then head back to Hoi An. In the afternoon take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants’ homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market.

DAY 09: HOI AN - HUE (B/L/-)

Leaving from Hoi An to Hue. The distance is 145km, it takes you about 3 hours. You will stop at Marble Mountain (Ngu Hanh Son) – a fairy land with a dreamlike scenery, pagodas, grottoes. Then depart for the scenic route passes over the Ocean Cloud Pass, through the wonderful photogenic of Lang Co beach.

Arrive in Hue and have a boat trip on the romantic river named Perfume to visit Hue’s best known religious site, which include Thien Mu Pagoda.

DAY 10: HUE CITY TOUR – FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH CITY (B/L/-)

After having beakfast at hotel, you will visit Khai Dinh Tomb, built over a period of 11 years, on a steep hill outside of the city, the tomb is a blend of Western and Eastern architecture, with materials and ornaments coming from France, China, and Japan. Next is the Citadel – the Royal Palace of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 – 1945) with many constructions of Flag Tower, Five Phoenix Tower, Thai Hoa Palace, Mieu Temple, Nine Urn Dynasties. Finish your city tour, tranfer to Hue Airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City,  which still be called Saigon by many locals. Pick up at airport and drive to your hotel.

DAY 11: HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI – HO CHI MINH CITY (B/L/-)

This morning, leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City behind we journey 2½ hours west towards the Cambodian border bound for the Cu Chi Tunnels. Arrive at the Cu Chi tunnels, which were built by local fighters during the Indochina conflict as a base from which the Viet Cong could operate from, close to the Southern Vietnamese capital. It included hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchen's and sleeping quarters. Drive back to Saigon and take a short city tour visiting one of the most famous history museums, the War Remnants Museum. From there, you will enjoy a walking tour to Old Saigon Post OfficeDong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental HotelOpera House and City Hall. After this be escorted back to the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 12: HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA (B/L/-)

Get picked up by our tour guide and bus then depart for My Tho. Arrive in My Tho. Board a wooden motor boat (20 minutes) to Unicorn Island. On this boat along the river’s bank, you’ll be passing through natural creeks, interesting fisherman's port; stilt houses (half on land, half on water).

From there, we’ll take you to a bee farm where you have a chance to taste a tasteful cup of authentic honey tea. After that we walk around quiet villages and watch the life of rural people in Mekong Delta.

You will get on small row boats. During this 15 minutes trip, you’ll witness all kind of interesting transportation modes that local people use to move around, while enjoying the fresh air along the canal and beautiful water coconut tree scenery.

After that, we cruise to a village where the sweat smell coconut candies are in the air. To satisfy your curiosity, we'll get to a village that has many small shops that make coconut candy and handcrafted items from coconut trees of Mekong Delta.

As your journey ends, you will return to My Tho by motorized boat and then travel to Can Tho.

DAY 13: MEKONG DELTA - HO CHI MINH CITY (B/L/-)

After breakfast, we board a boat and travel for about 40 minutes to get to our first spectacular landscape Cai Rang floating market. This is the largest of its type in the whole Mekong delta. After that, we continue on our riverine route for 5-7 minutes and then on foot for about 5 minutes to reach a noodle and a rice paper factories. We end our sightseeing trip at downtown Can Tho. On the way back to Ho Chi Minh, we'll have a stop at an interesting point to rest and also have photographs.

Day 14: HO CHI MINH CITY DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

Departure day. At leisure for shopping until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for onward flight.
